Trip Itinerary
This trip takes a southward paddle, following the Labrador current, in which 10,000 year old arctic ice from the Greenland's fjords may be found drifting along. Icebergs are common to our waters and are constantly changed by the ocean's forces creating magnificent forms of natural art.
Paddlers are asked to meet at the Kayak Shack by 8:30am on the day of the paddle. Our first stop will be Cartwright Harbour at noon. Each day promises new sites mixed with local history, natural heritage and cultural experiences. In previous years, we have paddled in company with Minke whales and seals and many varieties of local seabirds, including puffins, ducks and gannets.
Some of the places we will be visiting include: Hare Island, Hare Harbour, Cartwright Island (remains of rock houses), Curlew, Cape North, Mullin's Cove, Entry Island, Quaker's Hat Island and Sand Hill Bay and on to Indian Tickle
.
On the final day, we will return to Cartwright by power boat. Complete details of the trip, including clothing checklist and charts will be provided upon booking.

Customer Comment on this Tour
"I just wanted to say again how much fun I had on our trip. I got more than I dreamed of whales, icebergs, Inukshuks, great company, the incredible beauty and silence of Labrador, seals, flummies, the best bath water ever (in Tom`s cabin), humpbacks breeching, great food, a comfortable welcoming atmosphere, a taste of a culture + way of life that`s different than the one I grew up in, paddling in 4 metre swells (I know Tom, they weren`t waves!). I`ve already told lots of people what a wonderful time I had. I`ll keep telling more Pete!!"
