Hiking
Need to relax and study clean, untouched nature? Join us for a leisurely stroll along the Wonderstrand, or hike across remote islands in the Labrador Sea. We also provide a route to Black Head where you can photograph breathtaking views of the Mealy Mountains. We provide options for you to hike directly from our community or add a boat ride and hike some of our intriguing islands and beaches. Choose your hike from our 3 hour or 6 hour choices below.
Day Walks
When you are in Cartwright take advantage our Cultural walk. Learn about the town, the people, the history. Duration 2 - 3 hours.
If you would like to plan a morning or afternoon hike, we offer you a scenic guided stroll from the community to Black Head. Join us for a 3 hour hike to experience local scenery, birds and the many varieties of flora and fauna.
If you prefer, add a boat ride to your plans and we can take you to see the beautiful Wonderstrand. Our hike will lead through a moderate trail, providing fascinating details of the region, stories of our people and breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline. Join us for a 6 hour open boat ride and leisurely stroll along the Wonderstrand, or hike across remote islands in the Labrador Sea. Support for Unguided Hikes
Experience Labrador Tours offer support to unguided hikes that individuals or groups may require. Using our boats, we will deliver you to a starting point for your trip and return to collect you at the destination point. Our support services include the transportation to and from the area, as well as, contact for those who want to be able to monitor your progress. We will maintain contact with the client if requested and be ready to respond to a call for help should it be required.
